LAW OFFICES OF PETER E. HUTCHINS PLLC
The Law Offices of Peter E. Hutchins, PLLC is a full service personal injury, tort
and civil litigation law firm located in downtown Manchester, New Hampshire.
A native of New Hampshire and a graduate of Dartmouth College and Boston College
Law School, Attorney Hutchins was admitted to the New Hampshire State and Federal
Bars in 1983 and is in his 28th year of legal practice in New Hampshire. He served
as President of the New Hampshire Bar Association in 2001-2002. He currently remains
an officer of the Bar Association, serving as the organization’s Secretary.
Attorney Hutchins was recognized in the February 2010 edition of “Business NH Magazine”
as the top personal injury lawyer in the State of New Hampshire. This recognition
was the result of statewide polling of other New Hampshire attorneys.
Attorney Hutchins was formerly a shareholder with the Manchester law firm of Wiggin
& Nourie, PA where he served as chair of the firm’s personal injury practice group.
He opened his own firm in October of 2010 in order to better serve his many clients
statewide.
Attorney Hutchins focuses his practice on plaintiff personal injury civil litigation
in both state and federal courts. He represents clients statewide in civil claims
involving:
- Automobile, Motorcycle and Trucking Accidents
- Sexual Abuse and Assault Cases Against Schools, Churches, Employers, Medical Providers,
Daycares and other Institutional Defendants
- Slip & Fall Accidents
- Injuries to Children
- Wrongful Death Cases on Behalf of Estates, Heirs, Spouses and Children
- Defective Products
- Liquor, Alcohol and Restaurant / Tavern Liability
- Recreational Injuries
- Construction and Work Site Accidents
- Brain Injury Cases
- Spinal Cord and Paraplegia Injury Cases
- Slander, Libel, Defamation and Invasion of Privacy Cases
- Insurance Coverage Disputes
He typically works on a contingent fee basis which is a percentage of the client’s
recovery.
The initial consultation is free of charge.
He accepts referrals from other attorneys, and is willing to serve as local counsel
on cases from outside New Hampshire.
Attorney Hutchins’ philosophy is to aggressively and ethically represent his clients
in order to achieve for them the best possible result in their cases. He strives
to provide the utmost in client service and attention, seeking not only to obtain
the best possible financial result for his clients, but also to assist them in any
way possible through what are often very difficult and trying times in their lives.
He is successful in settling over 95% of his clients’ personal injury cases without
the necessity of going to trial, typically through the use of private mediation
– thereby achieving a good financial result for his clients while sparing them the
stress, anxiety and expense of "going to court."
On the rare occasion where an out-of-court settlement is not possible, Attorney
Hutchins has substantial experience trying cases before juries. He has tried over
60 personal injury cases before New Hampshire State and Federal juries during his
career, and has taken numerous appeals to the New Hampshire Supreme Court on a variety
of complex and novel legal issues relating to tort and civil litigation.
